This first essay in a new ACE series, Discussing Higher Education’s Future, draws on the collective foresight of diverse presidents to identify key trends and issues that will shape American higher education over the next 15 years.
This study demonstrates that college-bound high school students have strong interest in study abroad and international learning. The findings suggest that U.S. colleges and universities need to encourage student participation as well as provide opportunities for students to gain knowledge about and experiences in the wider world.
